Saturday March 21st,
The weather is certainly nice this weekend and I hope the little
fishies like it so they'll come out to play.
Things are still slow out there but there is encouraging news. Catalina
has been producing White Sea Bass at both ends. East end from the
rock back around the corner through the Vs and at the west end back
side. There has also been some Yellows down on the east end too.
There has been a decent Bonito bite mid Island front side.
Clemente has been kicking out some Yellowtail again this week. Most
are from Pyramid through China Point.
Locally there has been some good days and some going half mad
days. Some Sandies will bite and Rocks then they're no where to be
found. The inshore gang has been fishing tight to the beach for some
Halibut and White Sea Bass on 'Deans. The pier action is better with
many Shovel nose sharks last night and a huge Bat Ray bite last
week. This bite has been on the Squid. Some Perch, croacker Corbina
round out this info.
Cabo is slow. There are few tourist and even fewer fishermen due to
the typical spring change over. Some Yellowtail, Pargo and whatnot
round out the catch. A sporadic Yellowfin or two. This goes for the
Gordo area too.
East Cape is warming up. The first Dorado have been caught and
there is a good number of the tasty White Bonito to be had. A few
Roosters are in the area too. Bait is good, the weather warming so
expect to see better counts in the coming weeks.
